Sandy Head Ostrich Farm

Just off highway 61, Sandy Head Ostrich Farm invites you to view its ratites (flightless birds). Sue Carr, owner and operator, has ostriches, emus, Aracaunas, Turkens and other rare breed birds. She schedules fascinating tours for school groups, families and other groups. If your timing is right, you’ll even get a glimpse of the baby ostriches! See how you can use container gardening to create a vegetable garden for disabled and/or elderly people. Enjoy her hummingbird and butterfly garden and be sure to visit her one-of-a-kind gift shop. Sandy Head Ostrich is the first Tazewell County stop on the Mountain Heritage Loop. Page 2.
